53 days until Christmas ("It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" Song Battle)

[00:00:02] [SPEAKER_06] This is a Bramble Jam Podcast

[00:00:12] [SPEAKER_01] I'm from the North Pole, it's time for Christmas Morning The daily show where every day is Christmas Here are your hosts, Bran and...

[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_05] Well, well, well, hello everybody and Merry Christmas

[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_06] Welcome to your daily dose of Christmas here On the Christmas Morning Podcast, I'm Bran and I am here per usual with my buddy Scott

[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_04] Scott, Merry Christmas Merry Christmas, Brandon, this is the time of the year where our intro is actually correct

[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_06] That's true, it's the one time...

[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_04] The daily show

[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_06] Yeah, the rest of the year, we just hope people don't notice it

[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_04] Yeah, we made it, Bran, I honestly am a little shocked Not shocked that we did make it, I knew we would, time marches on As slow as it has felt to get here, it's still kind of like, whoa, what do you mean? It's already November

[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_06] Yes, it is very hard to believe, very excited to be doing this with you once again, Scotty And very excited in case you're just joining us for the first time this holiday season Welcome To be presented by Racine Danish Kringle Maybe you haven't heard about it, Kringle's wonderful pastry from Wisconsin And I love them, I eat them all the time, not just because I'm sponsored by them And they send me stuff in the mail to eat, but because they are truly delicious

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_06] They're a wonderful addition to your holiday season, and all November long, you can use the promo code DTHNOV26 To get 10% off the entire site We'll also have little different individual discount codes throughout the holiday season for specific things So keep your ears peeled for that But it's just good to be talking about Kringle Christmas Kringles

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_04] We're not going to be reading reviews during the dailies, because we don't have any That's probably the overarching reason But Yes Write in, if you buy a Kringle, which I hope you do Write in and let us know what flavor you like Because I want to kind of take the temperature Yeah We should do a Christmas Kringle review segment And what you'll inevitably do is somebody's going to hear it and say You know what, I've heard enough about the cheesecake one or whatever That I need to try it Somebody who hasn't done it is going to try it and is going to be blown away

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_04] So write a saying, ChristmasMorningPodcast at gmail.com I want to know Heck, I got ones I still haven't tried

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_06] I know Listen, I've been eating these for years And I just tried peppermint brownie for the first time And it blew me away So lots of great holiday options for you there at Kringle.com Use the promo code CMNOV26 10% off Speaking of emails, we got some Let's open up that mailbag

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_04] All right, so during the dailies, Brian We're going to read one email a day We're going to try to keep these around The whole episode around 12 minutes or so It's a lot that we're going to be with you every single day And we get that I can't do a 30-minute episode And expect somebody to listen to that five times a week The first one today always takes a little bit longer Because we have some setup And some, you know, housekeeping to take care of Yes But after this, they're going to get progressively shorter We want this to be your daily dose of Christmas

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_04] Not, you know, it's not those giant horse pills Yes

[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_06] We want you to still be able to celebrate Christmas

[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_04] So our email today is from Jeffrey Dale And Jeffrey says Good morning to Brian Scott and all the Christmas morning people I wanted to piggy-biggy back Look at that Jeffrey's a DTH listener right there Off of listener Heidi's email About the upcoming Christmas concert at her school My daughter Annalise, who is nine Joined chorus for the first time this year I have to say, I was pretty stoked When I found out the theme of their Christmas concert Was cartoon and movie Christmas Ooh, great theme They are doing songs from Rankin-Bass shows

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_04] Like Rudolph, Frosty, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town They're also doing songs from The Grinch Both the theatrical Jim Carrey version As well as the original Wow They're doing Somewhere in My Memory from Home Alone And it's been a lot of fun listening and practicing with her I thought this was a great idea And maybe something Heidi could look into Since she is near Los Angeles Where the movie magic happens I am so looking forward to the daily episodes And celebrating this Christmas season Well, Jeffrey, you're here You're the first email we read during the dailies How about that? How about that?

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_04] And I'm very That's a great lineup of tracks I would be very relieved If I opened up that little paper Yeah You know, half sheet that they give you And it's like, oh Okay, I like these songs Very nice

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_06] Let us know how it goes We'll be rooting for Annalise This holiday season That's right Scott, you had a joke for us?

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_04] Yep And I thought we were already going to be into One-liners and knock-knock jokes I have an entire week here Oh Of actual, like, question and answer type ones So here's the first one What is an Arctic wolf's favorite time of year? Is it the howl-a-days? It is the Christmas howl-a-days Yes Waka waka I said I had a week home I didn't say anything about them being good

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_06] No, I like that one That's good Okay, good Oh Let's do the countdown

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_05] 53 days until Christmas

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_04] I mean, Scotty That's pretty good It's amazing Now here's something that happens during the dailies Every single day we read the Christmas countdown And I'll be completely honest with you We run out of things to say About 53 days until Christmas 52 days until Christmas Not much changes from day to day When we get to December We're going to have some Advent calendar stuff Some listeners have made gifts for us Wow I mean, it got so many boxes already, Scotty It's very, very exciting

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_04] And that will be the time that we use To talk about the Advent calendar stuff So don't worry You're not going to be bored to tears By us saying 53 days until Christmas Although 53 That means in three days, Brad We hit 50 Listen, Scott

[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_06] I mean, if you are listening to this show And you're not excited about the countdown I think you're listening to the wrong show It's kind of the whole ballgame here

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_04] It also reminds you to stop Take a breath Appreciate every single day That goes by Because 53 days feels like a lot It's not going to be a lot Blink and you're going to miss it So that's where we are Let's see the news

[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_05] Today is November 2nd, 2026 I'm freaking out And here's the news

[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_04] It's going to be all right, Larry We're going to make it

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_05] No, it's not

[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_04] All right Nothing I can do Call BetterHelp

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_06] Very excited about this bit of news As somebody who, you know I'm in my mid-30s, Scotty And I grew up watching the Disney Channel And Nickelodeon And of course I loved Hilary Duff as a kid And she's making a bit of a comeback Within the past year She did a tour People are falling back in love A tour Falling in love with Lizzie McGuire Again and whatnot Well, Hilary Duff has released

[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_06] A new holiday EP Called Holiday Things Hmm This is a follow-up to her 2002 full-length Christmas album Santa Claus Lane The EP includes covers of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas And Last Christmas Along with some originals I know you love the originals, Scotty Three different originals there I guess it's Christmas All You Want for Christmas Is Me That's fun And I Want a Few Small Things

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_06] Very excited about this Lizzie McGuire and Hilary Duff While I can acknowledge That there's a cheesiness To what's happening here And we're just drunk on nostalgia These days Pretty excited about this EP I'll be listening to it Did you say her last album was 2002? Her last holiday album Yeah Well, she didn't do anything For like almost 20 years basically

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_04] Can you believe though

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_06] That's 25 years?

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_04] It's crazy That's crazy I also I'm not sure if Holiday Things As the title of the album Is funny, ironic Or really cheap

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_06] It's Holiday Things

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_04] I don't know And as for the originals I'm actually a little more accepting Of originals When they come from Like a major artist Because there's usually A ton of production behind it Sure People have worked harder on it That's not always the case With Bandcamp The reason that we do it On Bandcamp Is you might find some diamonds In the rough But there's a lot of rough

[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_06] All you want for Christmas Is me Is a great, great idea That's the one I think I'm going to listen To that one So there you go Some new Christmas music For you And some new Hilary Duff For all of you Duff heads Out there Good stuff Alright Scotty Let's take a break We'll come back We'll get you today's Christmas music battle Of It's beginning to look A lot like Christmas Here on Christmas Morning Welcome back everybody It's great to be here today

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_06] It's only fitting Scotty That our first Christmas battle Is It's beginning to look A lot like Christmas Because It is

[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_04] It was an inspired choice I looked at the list That you sent me And I said Yeah He knows what he's doing

[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_06] Listen It's not my first radio

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_04] It's as if we've been doing this For six or seven years now I know What is this? Six? Is it seven? Is it six? Seven? Seven I think we are going into our sixth season Okay It's hard to say We title the seasons for the music battles in a weird way And also the first one was one So I don't know It's We didn't have a zero choice there So it's hard to say

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_06] We also I don't think we have like the holiday season battles scores up either Which is like another It's another Like there's the during the year battle But then there's the holiday season battle And it's a part

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_04] Yeah, yeah, yeah Changes are coming to the website Big doings are afoot here Big doings So everybody just calm down right there

[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_06] I think you're right I think this is our sixth holiday season

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_04] I think so I think we started in 2021 Whatever That's how we should This is what people tune in for

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_06] Let's get to the battle Up first Boy How do you think you say this? It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas by DeMoyexo?

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_04] DeMoyzo is what I would go With

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_06] Just listen to it

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_03] It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Take a look at the five and ten Glistening once again With candy games It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas But the prettiest sight to see

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_03] A wood and a pistol that shoots

[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_02] Is the wish of Barney and Van Doors are the talk and will go for a walk Is the hope of Janice and Jan And mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again

[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_03] It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas There's a tree in the Grand Hotel

[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_04] I like that brand good start to the season

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_06] You can pick up a little bit on a little accent there I went to the band camp Montreal, Quebec So perhaps a little French

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_04] Well that's where the Zoe comes from

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_06] There you go, Zoe Up next we have It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas by James Landman

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_00] It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Everywhere you go Take a look at the five and ten Glistening once again With candy canes and silver lanes aglow It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Toys in every store But the prettiest sight to see Is the holly that will be

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_00] On your own front door A pair of hop-along boots And a pistol that shoots Is the wish of Barney and Ben Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk Is the hope of Janice and Jen And mom and dad can hardly wait For school to start again

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_04] Ooh, Brian, a crooner on that one

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_06] We got ourselves a crooner

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_04] Who was that crooner that we all loved? Jose James Jose James Still waiting for him to come on the show

[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_06] Man, Jose James

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_04] There are very traditional Christmas songs And I would say it's beginning to look like A lot like Christmas is one of them Where I really want that old Frank Sinatra, Perry Como feel to it So I really enjoy James Landman on that

[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_06] Absolutely Very good And I think a really great way To kick off the season One episode down Who knows how many to go Oh, let's see

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_04] 39 to go All right

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_06] Something like that Can't wait for it We're going to be back tomorrow With another episode Another battle A battle of We're all happy today, right? Well, tomorrow, blue Christmas Okay, boom We can't be up for too long, right?

[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_04] Yeah, roller coasters go up and down

[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_06] That's right So coming back tomorrow for that Until then Merry Christmas
